STOP violence against Women

Today, Sunday 25th November, is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This initiative, which started almost 20 years ago, aims at informing people and raising awareness of sensitive issues such as violence and feminicide.

Unfortunately, recent data show that this social phenomenon is constantly rising. Here are some 2018 alarming figures:

  • 106 feminicides in 10 months, that is almost one feminicide every 3 days
  • In 2018, 37,6% of total homicides in Italy were feminicides (the % was 34,8% in 2017).
  • 72% of women have been murdered by a relative, a partner or an ex-partner.
  • More than 49.000 women have turned to anti-violence Centres in 2018.

The growing presence of women at Regas shows what a valuable resource women are to us. For this reason, Regas is very sensitive to this issue and wants to underline its support to all women.
